- Know their rights regarding, school, work, and safety
- Learn how to advocate for themselves in real-life situations

- Total Duration: 60–90 minutes / In-person or virtual (flexible)
Content Focus Areas
Work Rights
- Legal working age in NYS and jobs teens are allowed to do
- Hours teens are allowed to work during school and non-school periods
- Right to a safe and respectful workplace
- Minimum wage laws and protections from wage theft
- Right to report harassment or unsafe work conditions without retaliation
Safety Rights
- Right to report abuse, harassment, or unsafe situations at home, work, or school
- Access to emergency services and protection from retaliation
- Protection under mandated reporter laws (who is required to help)
School Rights
- Right to a safe, non-discriminatory learning environment
- Right to access support services such as counseling and special education
- Protection from bullying and unfair disciplinary practices
